Advanced Hearing & Balance Center is PROUD to announce that, in an effort to do our part for the local community and our colleagues on the frontlines of COVID-19 treatment, we are maintaining open doors to our clinics for external patients referred over for diagnostics / treatment. We are happy to offer up our staff and resources to the community.

Standing Strong Against COVID-19
We're all in this together!

Standing Strong Against COVID-19

We remain committed to the health & wellbeing of our our patients and community
AHBC is committed to doing all we can to keep community members from having to rely on our already burdened hospitals and urgent care centers for diagnostics / treatment. Our providers and staff recognize the importance of access in the medical field. Therefore, we will continue to do all we can to be there for the community and its members in this challenging and unprecedented time.

Our audiologists & staff, virtually and in-clinic, are standing strong against COVID-19. Our office has started offering virtual visits / TeleHealth for aural rehabilitation visits and consultations that do not require diagnostics or being available in person. AHBC continues to maintain our curbside contactless hearing aid checks to minimize the risk of exposure to germs, and both our clinic locations remain fully operational to keep our patients out of the Emergency Departments and hospitals at this critical time.

COVID Safety Precautions

We continue taking significant precautions in order to take care of your audiology needs while keeping our staff and patients safe! Please be assured that the health, safety, and well-being of our patients, staff, and their families, is our top priority. We have taken additional precautions in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help minimize the spread of this virus, including:
Prior to patients and companions entering the clinic, everyone must be COVID screened to ensure they are low-risk and not experiencing any viral symptoms. Patients are limited to one companion, if medically required. No exceptions.

• Temperature check using contactless infrared thermometer on forehead area
• Experiencing any COVID symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, loss of taste and/or smell, lingering headache, fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, muscle or body aches, sore throat, congestion, or runny nose

We are asking anyone who is experiencing active COVID symptoms or has had direct contact exposure to a COVID positive person within the past 14 days, to reschedule their appointment 14-days out.

COVID-19 Contact Exposure Guidance from CDC:  An individual who has had close contact (within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more, without masks) with a confirmed COVID positive person OR person who has active COVID-19 symptoms.
All patients and companions must wear sanitized face masks covering both the nose and mouth at all times while inside the clinic. A mask will be provided, if necessary.
We always follow CDC’s Infection Control Guidelines for Healthcare Providers, but we are taking extra precautions by increasing the frequency of disinfecting and sanitizing rooms after each patient (special attention to door handles, arms on chairs, countertops and equipment) with approved disinfectant cleaners. We are using UVC lights in sound booths and exam rooms to kill germs on equipment, surfaces, and carpet. We have also installed medical grade air purifiers with HEPFA filters in every exam room and each room throughout the clinic.
Our waiting room is closed.  Patients will need to call our office upon arrival to check-in for their appointment, then wait in the comfort of their vehicles until an exam room is available. A staff member will call patients to notify when exam room is ready. All patients are roomed immediately upon entry into the clinic to prevent exposure to others throughout the clinic.
Many services can be offered remotely, including troubleshooting hearing aids and aural rehabilitation.
Contactless curbside service available for supply pick-ups, hearing aid cleanings, warranty renewals, hearing aid repair drop offs, tubing changes, STAP voucher drop off and equipment pick-up.
We are requiring all staff who feel ill or have any illness symptoms, to remain at home, until medically cleared to return to work by a medical doctor.
